What We Do
“Winter Ready” Repair Ministry
Miriam’s Song’s team of volunteer tradesmen and women provide free repair and maintenance help for widows and elderly residents in Montenegro who do not have family or other support available.
Free Language Classes In The Balkans
Our team in Montenegro provides free, classroom-led English classes to local residents. With better English skills, participants can expand their careers into tourism or international business, or build friendships internationally. We have plans to expand our video conferencing classes to the entire Balkans peninsular.
Our Teachers & Curriculum
Our lead teachers are certified TESOL instructors. TESOL = Teaching English (to) Speakers (of) Other Languages.
Our teachers use a curriculum that is based on traditional stories that millions of people grew up with as children in many countries. By using these familiar stories and concepts, students better understand the materials used. We also introduce interesting stories from countries worldwide, which opens the minds of students to people from different cultures.
Our Winter Ready Repair Volunteers
Our tradesmen and women have experience and qualifications in various trade disciplines such as plumbing, roofing, carpentry, electrics, tiling and ceramics.
501(c)(3) Tax-exempt Charitable Organization
Miriam’s Song, Inc is a tax-exempt charitable organization in the United States. Donations to Miriam’s Song are tax-deductible. Charitable status can be verified with the IRS website here.
The equivalent tax exemption status is being pursued in Australia and Montenegro.
